February 1, 2023 --- UPDATE --- Search for our next Principal
Thank you to the many who responded to our January, 2023 Community Survey regarding our national search for our next Principal. Our consulting firm, Carney, Sandoe & Associates was most impressed with the response rate and the thoughtfulness of the comments.
It is telling that among the highest scoring reasons OLC School is greatly appreciated by the parent community is that the School provides a “Secure, intimate environment where every student is known.” The same important group of respondents emphasized the next Principal must bring “Experience building effective teams and mentoring teachers.”
Based on the most valuable information gathered from the Community Survey, as well as site visits to the School’s locations on January 12-13, 2023, this Position Description has been widely disseminated. In three tranches the Position Description was first sent to 3,437 potential sources and candidates in the CS&A database. In two subsequent efforts 449 Catholic educators were contacted in the states of NJ, NY, CT, PA, NH, VT, MA, DE, DC and MD. Finally, 118 in the Archdiocese of New York, the Diocese of Brooklyn, the Diocese of Rockville Center, and the Diocese of Bridgeport were contacted by email and phone.
In addition to postings on LinkedIn and Twitter there are OLC School Principal Search listings on the NCEA and the ACE Notre Dame Websites. Please feel free to share these links with members of your own networks!
To date there have been six substantive candidates interviewed. Three of these six candidates are still in the vetting process. Two have declined. One has been rejected.
The timeline calls for continued interviews by the consultants through this month with the presentation of dossiers of qualified candidates in March to the OLC School Interview Committee consisting of Lucy Marciani, Lou Underwood, Eric Reid, Sr. Rini, and myself.
It is our objective to meet with finalists on campus in April, 2023.
Please check this page periodically for updates. And keep our School in your prayers as we move through the Principal search process.
God Bless,
Fr. Bryan E. Page, Pastor
