It has been my honor to be part of the OLC School community since 2007. In that time, I have have worked with all grade levels and have seen the student population greatly increase in size. I have especially enjoyed watching our students grow up from preschoolers into fine young adults, ready for high school.
I am delighted to be returning to the Art Room! I taught Art for several years, and am so happy to have the opportunity to do it again. My goal is to familiarize the students with major artists throughout history, and enable them to interpret their works in a way that relates to the children. As the students' artistic skills improve, they are better able to express their own creativity. Finally, after 3 years of covid restrictions, we are looking forward to bringing back the OLC Art Show in person, with works from all the students!
Stay tuned for more details later in the Spring!
I am very excited that we will be able to bring back Library Book Exchange in the Upper School. Due to Covid restrictions and other logistics, it was not possible for most classes last year.
For the past several years I have coordinated the school’s yearbook, as well as handling our Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. I am likely to pop up, taking pictures, at any place, at any time!
Prior to beginning my career in education, I worked in politics and the labor movement in Washington, D.C., and then raised our two sons, who are now adults.
I graduated from Georgetown University, where I met and married my husband. After he finished his doctorate, we returned to New Jersey. Eventually, I began substitute teaching in Bayonne Public Schools, and then attended graduate school at Saint Peter’s University, where I received my teaching certificates in Elementary Education and in Middle School Social Studies.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, creating, travelling, and doing genealogy research.
